Our Facilities

At Stepping Stones, we provide a homely secure yet fun environment for all the children. As play is a very important part of every
child's day, we provide a wide variety of fun based games and materials. We encourage parental input and suggestions and two-way
communication is very important to us at Stepping Stones.

Sensory Room

This is a room which provides a quiet safe space where any child may go if they feel they need a break or to self-regulate their behaviours. Here children are free to explore many materials or simply lie down and relax. It is a quiet, calm peaceful space and it is available to all children throughout their day.

ECCE Rooms

The ECCE rooms follow a play-based curriculum linking the philosophy of Montessori to Aistear. Here children learn life skills through play. These skills are vitally important to  enable children to become independent learners and develop a love of learning. Skills promoted are well-being, learning to love yourself and develop empathy for others and ability to express a range of emotions. Communication, though speech, visuals, song, dance and role play. Diversity, Equality and Inclusion, allowing all children an opportunity to learn in a safe environment that is well resourced and rich in materials and activities. Exploring and Thinking, providing a curriculum which is full of adventure and has the best interest of the children at all times and this is developed through observations and reflection.

Our Facilities

Our Garden – We have a very large outdoor space where children can play altogether. It is a safe space with a large variety of wooden structures. A climbing Ship, Wooden House, School Bus and Sand Pit. This garden contributes to a large part of our learning environment as it allows children to be free and engage in make believe play which develops skills around imagination and turn taking. Fine and gross motor skills are tested and nurtured and children are outside in the fresh air.

Our Staff – All our staff are fully Garda Vetted & are qualified from level 5 up to level 8, we also have a member of staff fully trained under the LINC Programme launched by the DCYA (Department of children & youth affairs). This programme allows the Early Years Sector to promote the inclusion of children with additional needs.
